Intimate Concert - with Mick Dunne & Paul O`Brien

Mick Dunne, from The village of Prosperous, Co. Kildare, began his early music career at the age of 15, when he worked in Dowlings of Prosperous. It was here that he was influenced by many artists, but mainly Christy Moore. He was soon perfecting his craft in Nottingham, under the mentorship of musician Martin Taylor. The Irish emigrants he met during his performances in UK Midlands, provided Mick with lyrics for some of his own songs, which have become favourites. In 2011 Mick won the Leinster Entertainment Award for his song "My Own Kildare". His songs "The Sky over Ireland" and "Dublin in The Rain" have also been covered by other artists. "Music is my life and I don't know who I'd be or what I'd be if it hadn't come into my life. I'll keep writing as long as people will listen," he said.

After a couple of years of illness Mick has come back to the music. "This time I'm concentrating more on my own songs rather than covers. Audiences are enjoying the songs and the stories behind them. I look forward to seeing you on the road."
