Come join us for an unforgettable afternoon as we celebrate friendship, the timeless art of storytelling and the legendary Eamon Kelly. Pakie O'Callaghan, a renowned storyteller and actor, will be performing the tribute to Eamon Kelly, guaranteed to raise plenty of laughs, at the Palace Theatre on Thu Nov 14 2024.
Muintir na Tíre and Cork Cultural Companions in collaboration with Fermoy Community Network are hosting this special event in the Palace Theatre from 2pm on Thursday 14th November.
The afternoon is especially for older adults and will have information on local services and groups and refreshments, followed by the performance by Pakie O'Callaghan Celebrating the storytelling of Eamon Kelly in the Palace Theatre Fermoy.
About the show:
Pakie O'Callaghan has had a distinguished career across stage, TV, and radio. He performed with the Everyman Theatre, taking on lead roles in various productions, and collaborated with Cork Theatre Co. In the mid-90s, he appeared in RTE's radio sketch series Shortt Circuit, gained recognition for his role in the TV series Bull Island, where he notably impersonated Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy. O'Callaghan has also contributed to Tonight with Vincent Brown and Midnight Court, and has been a writer/performer on Joe Duffy’s Funny Friday Show since 2004.
With Frank Twomey, he co-wrote and starred in the successful Santa Ponsa trilogy, touring Ireland extensively. O'Callaghan also penned three solo shows that toured nationally. Inspired by his hero Eamon Kelly, O'Callaghan seeks to celebrate Kelly’s storytelling legacy while appealing to new audiences with tales that are universal, timeless, and humorous.
