KATS (Knocknacarra Amateur Theatre Society) are back once again with their annual supper theatre and delighted to be staging Drama at Inish by playwright Lennox Robinson.
Set in the 1950’s this is a farce about a repertory company who come to the village of Inish and perform dark psychologically introspective works from the likes of Chekov, Strindberg and Ibsen. The inhabitants start to develop neuroses, complexes and inhibitions like the characters of the plays.
This series of strange occurrences climaxes in the local TD causing serious implications for the government after being inspired by one of the plays. This proves the last straw and the actors are asked to leave by the hotel owners. The play ends with a circus being engaged to replace the actors for the remainder of the season.
