Lay up Your Ends by Martin Lynch and Charabanc Theatre Company

Lay up your ends is set in Belfast during the workers strikes in 1911. Following the announcement of shorter hours, wage cuts and new rules, the workers in York Street Mill decide to walk out. The cast take on multiple roles to show how the story unfolds. Poverty, rebellion, comedy, romance and resilience are all on display here. This is a unique show in style and content, not to be missed.

Aisteoirí Muinchille’s production coincides with Cootehill 300 celebrations and notes the connection between our town and the flax industry.
