Premier Hall Concert 25 - St Angela's Academy of Music

St Angela’s Academy of Music will be showcasing students of their many varied Music Departments this May 15th at the Premier Hall. The show will open with the new Thurles Community Orchestra (ages 13 to 74) performing various renowned classical pieces with Sonja Cadogan as their conductor. Following that, there will be a variety of St Angela’s Academy students from various musical fields. From the Classical department, we will have amazing pianists performing fabulous pieces on a grand piano followed by soloists on Violin and Saxophone accompanied by Mary Rose McNally on piano. Kathleen Nesbitt’s Traditional Musicians will then take to the stage to perform their well rehearsed jigs, reels and more. After the interval, The Pop department’s ukulele musicians will gather on stage alongside Kevin Sutton to perform various pop songs accompanied by the St Angela’s house band. Following this, the Classical Voice students will be performing their grade 8 pieces for everyone to enjoy. Afterwards the Motown band and the Rock bands will showcase their music followed by a Ukulele Band finale that utilises all the academy departments collaborating together. We hope to see you all there on May 15th at 7pm. It will be a night to remember for students and audiences alike.
